IMFA CSR Activities in Odisha

'Sowing the seeds of change'

Late Dr Bansidhar Panda, a renowned research scientist, returned from the United Sates and choose Therubali, a remote outpost in the erstwhile undivided Koraput district of Odisha to embark upon his dream and IMFA came into being in 1961. Today, IMFA is a world of enterprise and innovation inspired by its Founders, Late Dr Bansidhar Panda and Late Mrs Ila Panda. What stands now before the world is a leading, fully integrated producer of Ferro alloys straddling the value chain from mining to smelting with ambitious growth / diversification plans on the anvil. The desire of the Founders to have a positive impact on society is ingrained in the culture of the organization, which is reflected by the commendable work in the field of Education, Vocational Training, Basic Healthcare, Water & Sanitation and Infrastructure Development. The Sarala Award for literature and Ekalabya Puruskar for sports which are instituted by IMFA, are recognised as the highest achievements in their respective fields.

Realizing that the changing dynamics of the world requires interventions that lead to inclusive sustainable growth in line with parameters set by the Millennium Development Goals, IMFA set up the Bansidhar & Ila Panda Foundation with the overarching aim of enabling lives through socio-economic transformation.
