Industrial Training Institutes

Therubali Private Industrial Training Institute was established by IMFA in 1992 and now managed by BIPF. It is situated at Therubali in Rayagada, a tribal-dominated district of Odisha. In 2016, BIPF built a second ITI at Sukinda in Jajpur district. This residential ITI is the result of ‘Partners in Development’ program of IMFA and the Government of Odisha. Both institutes are affiliated to the National Council for Vocational Training, New Delhi, under Directorate General of Employment & Training, Government of India through Quality Council of India. ITIs provide courses and training for various vocational streams including: electrician, fitter, and welder. Students from both the ITIs are now engaged in different companies and are earning respectable salaries.

BIPF Skill Centres

BIPF is an active participant in ‘Skilled Odisha - Empowered Odisha’ - an initiative to empower local youth by skilling. BIPF, in partnership with Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS), is also implementing the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) - a placement linked skill-development program created by Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) which focusses on developing skills and productive capacity of the rural youth. Under this scheme, three skill centers provide skilling to boys and girls. At Choudwar, Cuttack district, a girls-only skill center provides training as an industrial sewing machine operator. At J K Pur, Rayagada district, two skill centers for boys provide training for electricians and turners who are employed in machine manufacturing. In Sukinda, Jajpur, the skill center focusses on training youth for food & beverages services under the hospitality sector. Apart from this vocational training, students are taught English speaking skills and given computer literacy training.
